After Urwa Hocane’s notable performance as Durdana in Punjab Nahi Jaungi two years ago, viewers were eagerly waiting to see the actress on-screen. However, Urwa surprised us when she announced her debut production — Tich Button — and she wasn’t a part of the cast. The actress took a hiatus from television but the wait is over now; Urwa will soon be seen in a television drama alongside Imran Ashraf.
In an exclusive chat with Something Haute, the actress revealed a few details about her next project.
“It’s a drama serial, directed by Aehsun Talish and it is written by Imran Ashraf. It is a Momina Duraid project and will be aired on Hum TV,” she said.
Talking about the story line, the actress stayed tight-lipped however she promised it is something to watch out for.
“The story line isn’t something that can be summarized in a few sentences. It has a lot of wonderful layers and you will get to know new things through it. I can’t reveal too much at this point so you will have to wait for it to hit the screens. It’s going to be something fresh and a new concept, so trust me, patience will be bliss,” she added.

Urwa shared that she was busy working on her film which will release in the first half of 2020.
“This will be my first TV project after Udaari. I did three films after that — Namaloom Afraad 2, Rangreza and Punjab Nahi Jaungi — but no dramas. I had taken a break from acting this year as I was focusing on the production of my film. Tich Button is now in the post-production phase; keep an eye out for that one too early next year,” the actress said.
“I’m thrilled to be a part of this amazing team and thoroughly enjoying this role. It has been a pleasure working with every individual and I have learnt a lot from each one of them,” she added.
During a recent interview on Ahsan Khan’s show, Gohar Rasheed and Kubra Khan spoke about a drama which is written by Imran Ashraf and directed by Aehsun Talish. Titled Mushk, the drama stars Gohar, Kubra and Imran Ashraf in the cast. The actors also shared that the play is written by Imran and we have a hunch that Urwa is talking about the same project, but only time will tell.
On work front, Imran has also signed his debut film — Dus Mastam — alongside Amar Khan. It seems that 2020 is going to be a busy year for both Urwa and Imran. Keep watching this space for more updates!
