Unlike the past few weeks, this week was quite busy for the media as several teasers, trailers and telefilms were announced. However, if you missed out on what happened this week, here are the highlights from what you missed:

1. The Legend of Maula Jatt‘s fate remains undecided?

While fans and critics have long waited for Bilal Lashari’s masterpiece to release, recent reports suggest that the film is likely to not release on Eid ul Fitr. Two reasons are being cited as causes of the delay; one being the filmmakers international deal to release the film globally on the same date and the other being their longtime legal battle with Bahoo Films. The filmmakers are yet to confirm or deny any claims.

2. Baaji teaser leaves fans and critics in awe of Meera

Pakistani veteran actor Meera will be gracing our cinema screens this year as she makes a comeback with Baaji by Saqib Malik. The teaser showcased Meera in her true aura and fans and critics are anticipating one of the biggest releases in Pakistani cinema this year.

3. Ready, Steady, No trailer promises to be a punchy comedy film of 2019

While many big banner films were on the list, the announcement of Ready, Steady, No‘s release took everyone by surprise. The teaser packed a punch of emotions and it seems like the right amount of lighthearted comedy that the audience will certainly enjoy. The film features model-turned-actor Amna Ilyas and veterans Salman Shahid and Ismail Tara as some of the known faces. The cast also includes debutant Faisal Saif along with Marhoom Ahmad Bilal (last seen in Teefa in Trouble as Billu Butt), Zain Afzal and Nargis Rasheed.

4. Yasir Hussain turns Durdana for Eid telefilm

After the hubbub about Ramadan telefilms and dramas, a telefilm for Eid ul Fitr has already been announced. Starring veteran actor Mehmood Aslam, Ushna Shah and Yasir Hussain, this telefilm will be all things fun and entertaining. Yasir will be seen donning two polar opposite characters; one male and one female, in Help Me Durdana and we cannot wait to see how he justifies both characters.

5. Bandish sequel in the works

Although horror and mystery plays and films are an area of expertise for Pakistani filmmakers and writers, Bandish changed that perception and rightly so. The paranormal drama which revolved around the subject of black magic came to an end this week, however, the makers were quick to announce its sequel. The script and cast of the play are yet to be finalized and we hope it will twofold of what we’ve already seen in the first season.
