Ever since Khaani ended, we cannot seem to recall a drama that had the potential to captivate and enthrall the audience the way it did. While Meri Guriya was emotional, impactful and socially relevant, it did not actually lighten the mood of course or entertain the viewers as such. The lack of quality content available on television is frustrating for those of us who love watching Pakistani dramas. Well, it’s about to change now that we will finally have some interesting dramas lined up for this month, and onward…
Here’s a list of Pakistani dramas we’re actually excited for:
Deedan
The play is written by Attiya Daud and went on-air last night, 13th October at 8 pm on A-plus. Starring Sanam Saeed and Mohib Mirza as Resham and Zardaab, Deedan deals with forbidden love and its complications in a different cultural setup. Directed by Amin Iqbal, the drama also stars Ajab Gul, Rasheed Naz and Huma Nawab.

Haiwan
While Haiwan might not be light and refreshing, it is a play dealing with a social stigma which requires attention. The first two episodes were on-aired on 10th October, and it will telecast every Wednesday at 8 pm on ARY Digital. Starring Faysal Quraishi and Sanam Chauhdry in the lead, the drama not only addresses the threats our children face, but also highlight the inattentive behaviour of parents who are often careless and blindly trust acquaintances around their kids.
Written by Sara Sadain Syed and directed by Mazhar Moin, the play also features Savera Nadeem and Iffat Omar in pivotal characters.
