While many celebrities refrained from publicly commenting on Salman Khan’s verdict in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case, Mawra Hocane — who is never scared of speaking her mind — was quick to tweet in favor of the megastar. As we know, Mawra is not just a talented actor but also a law student; it’s not surprising that she decided to comment on the matter.
“In a world with no “NO†human rights, a great human being is being punished for killing an animal umpteen years ago under animal rights. Bash me all you want, but there’s something completely wrong about it.. mind you such human beings are our saving grace! #SalmanKhanVerdict,” she posted on Twitter.

The lawyer-to-be clearly thinks something is wrong here and isn’t afraid to take a stand for what’s right. And while some appreciated the Sammi star, there were some keyboard warriors who did what they do best; attack! She was told off for not speaking about “bigger issues”. Although that’s not true.
Just before her Salman Khan tweet, Mawra had posted about the Kunduz attack:
Stop tagging this as war against terrorism, what you’re doing right here by killing these little flowers is terrorism!!!!! #KunduzMassacre how could we do this as humans ? @UN child after child.. we are worse than Animals.. ? pic.twitter.com/noFgJRvQAo

She has also, in the past, shown support for the minorities in Pakistan:
White for Peace & White for our minority! #HappyPakistanDay ????â¤ï¸ whoever you are wherever you are , just send some love & warmth for my country ! X pic.twitter.com/SiW8Lc28XA

And she’s been tweeting about Syria quite regularly:
My hearts broken forever. Happiness will never have the same meaning or sadness #Syria ? https://t.co/9HppMs7kk8

And as far as Salman Khan’s concerned, she isn’t the only one who’s lent her support to him. Here’ a bunch of other celebrities who also shared their thoughts on the verdict:
Simi Garewal
Of one thing I am dead sure..@BeingSalmanKhan would NEVER EVER harm any animal. He loves them too much. The real culprit should be exposed. 20 years is too long to bear someone else’s cross..

Arjun Rampal
The law takes its course. Can’t argue it. But at this point in time I just feel helpless and my heart goes out to @BeingSalmanKhan and his family. Reason, cause the last thing @BeingSalmanKhan is, is a criminal.I feel this is too harsh. I do hope he gets the relief he deserves.

Jaya Bachchan
I feel bad. He should be given relief. He has done a lot of humanitarian work: Jaya Bachchan, Rajya Sabha MP on #SalmanKhan #BlackBuckPoachingCase pic.twitter.com/VUEM0RIweE
