Just when we thought the threats surrounding Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming film Padmavati couldn’t get any more serious, a body was found hanging with slogans against the movie scrawled on stones close by.
The body was found in Rajasthan’s Nahargarh Fort, 20 km away from Jaipur. Slogans inscribed on stones nearby read, “Padmavati ka virodh (Opposing Padmavati),” and “Hum putle nahi jalate, latkate hain (We don’t burn effigies, we kill).”
The deceased who is yet to be identified, is reported to have been strangled using a plastic wire.

Previously, Haryana BJP’s Chief Media Coordinator, Suraj Pal Amu was offering a reward of INR 10 crore for beheading the film’s lead actor Deepika Padukone and director, Sanjay Leela Bhansali.
Padmavati is based on the legend that Alauddin Khijli (played by Ranveer Singh) invades Chittor to capture the already-married Queen Padmini, (played by Deepika Padukone). The film has been mired in controversy over claims that it ‘distorts history’ regarding Rajput Queen Padmini, a charge that Bhansali has repeatedly denied.
Padmavati was set to release on 1st December 2017 but has now been postponed indefinitely.
