After delighting every 90s kid with the much-awaited trailer for Judwaa 2 starring Varun Dhawan, the team behind the film has now released the modern remix of Anu Malik’s catchy song, ‘Tan Tana Tan’ with a new title called ‘Chalti Hai Kya 9 Se 12’.

While in the original film, Salman Khan and Karisma Kapoor had us grooving to the song’s quirky and upbeat tunes, this time around, Varun Dhawan, Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu have taken it to a whole new level with ‘Chalti Hai Kya 9 Se 12‘ which although slow, still retains the same magic.
However, if we compare it to the original, the lack of ‘Karisma’ (pun intended) makes the song slightly lackluster for us. Having said that, the song does make one feel that David Dhawan may have found a true successor in Varun Dhawan for Salman Khan’s Judwaa characters Raja and Prem, with his lively energy.
Sung by Dev Negi and Neha Kakkar, ‘Chalti Hai Kya 9 Se 12’ may be that typical Bollywood 90s song that you needed for a throwback and that’s why it isn’t repelling us completely.

And here’s the original, which throws us back to a time when Karisma had a perm and Salman was lean and young.
