Bollywood is making a biopic named Gul Makai on Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai. The poster of the upcoming movie was unveiled today (Tuesday).

The first look of the film was revealed back in September 2017 by lead actor Reem Sheikh — who is playing Malala — which was then taken off, however this one seems quite intense. The poster features Reem holding a book in her hand. Half of the book is caught in flames, which depicts the hardships that Malala faced in her life.

The poster comes with an interesting tagline: “One child, one teacher, one book and one pen can change the world.”

Gul Makai — the pseudonym Malala used to write with — is directed by Amjad Khan and features Reem Sameer Shaikh and Divya Dutta as lead characters. It has been shot in Ganderbal district of Indian Occupied Kashmir.

“The film aims to capture Malala’s spirit, her fight, and also the reality and suffering of the people of Pakistan. It chronicles the journey of Malala from her days in Swat Valley to her becoming the youngest Noble peace prize winner. Major part of the film has been shot in Bhuj and Mumbai and the last leg in Kashmir,” Amjad Khan told an Indian publication.

We are eager to see the biopic as well as curious whether it will just focus on the hardships or also highlight the progressive side of this young warrior.
