Ms. Marvel

Ms. Marvel is once again in the news and for the right reasons! The six-episode miniseries of Disney+ will receive the Critics Choice Association’s (CCA) Ensemble Award for Television in a ceremony held at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles on November 4.

Critics Choice Awards are presented annually by the AmericanCanadian Critics Choice Association to honor the finest in cinematic achievement. CAA on Thursday, announced it will be honoring established and emerging Asian Pacific Cinema and Television at a new, standalone event this awards season.

They announced the award winners for this year on Twitter:

Ms. Marvel is based on Marvel Comics stories featuring the character Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel which was created by Bisha K. Ali. It is the story about Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani), a Pakistani-American teen based in New Jersey who fangirls over Avengers, especially Captain Marvel. She considers herself a misfit and finds her mind entangled in the world of fantasy and superheroes.

One of the directors of the series is Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy alongside Meera Menon, Adil El Arbi, and Bilall Fallah. Many renowned names of Pakistani fraternity are a part of the cast of the series including Fawad Khan, Mehwish Hayat, Nimra Bucha and Samina Ahmad.
