After being unable to write for more than two weeks – a mesh of personal and national crises to blame – I found my spirit yesterday and the Engro Excellence Awards are to thank for it.
When you see so many luminaries together under the starlight sky and Mohatta Palace backdrop, you realize that there are visionaries thinking much beyond their own personal radii and it makes you want to honour them. Engro did so by honouring Dr Atta ur Rahman (Physical and Applied Sciences), Abdul Sattar Edhi (Social and Humanitarian Services) and Mushtaq Ahmed Yusufi (Literature) and to see these legends step up and receive the honours were indeed moments that will go down in history.
