We’ve entered the last quarter of the year and it seems like a lot of interesting TV serials have already aired or are set to go on air in the coming days. Though most plays usually focus on family drama and/or pressing social issues, there are a number of exciting new projects exploring bold and captivating themes to watch out for. Let’s take a look at what’s in store for us…

Working Women
The first episode of Working Women went on air on Green Entertainment last week and it was intriguing to say the least. Penned by Bee Gul, who is known for writing unconventional stories, and directed by powerhouse Yasra Rizvi, Working Women revolves around six women on a quest of self-discovery and fighting the crushing odds that hinder their journey. Through these six extraordinary women, the serial highlights the complexities of women’s lives and how they shatter stereotypes in order to fulfil their dreams. The series has an ensemble cast including Maria Wasti, Anoushay Abbasi, Srha Asgar, Jenaan Hussain, Faiza Gillani, Adnan Jaffar and others.

Mannat Aur Murad
Written by Nadia Akhtar and directed by Syed Wajahat Hussain of blockbuster serial Khuda Aur Mohabbat fame, Mannat Aur Murad features Iqra Aziz and emerging star Talha Chahour in titular roles. Slated to go on-air on Geo Entertainment this week, the series has been produced under the banner of 7th Sky Entertainment. The trailer is already out and looks quite promising, where we see Mannat and Murad falling head over heels for each other despite their different backgrounds. Apart from Iqra and Talha, Mannat Aur Murad’s cast includes Irsa Ghazal, Rabya Kulsoom, Noor ul Hassan, Uzma Hassan and Parveen Akbar among others.

Ishq Murshid

Last seen in drama serial Kuch Ankahi, the versatile Bilal Abbas Khan is all set to star in upcoming drama serial Ishq Murshid alongside Durefishan Saleem. With the teasers out, it seems like Bilal will be seen in not one but two different avatars. Helmed by Farooq Rind and penned by Abdul Khaliq Khan, the drama claims to be a “journey filled with love, passion, and twists.” Produced by Moomal Entertainment & MD Productions, Ishq Murshid also stars veteran actors Shabbir Jan, Salma Hassan, Omair Rana, Noor ul Hassan, Hira Tareen and many others.

Sukoon

Written by Misbah Nosheen and directed by famed director Siraj ul Haq, Sukoon features Ahsan Khan and Sana Javed in the lead. The first look, which was unveiled last week, was intriguing to say the least. This iDreams production promises to be a love story with a mysterious twist.
