With the new year ringing in, it provides some much-needed hope for the box office with the success of Chupan Chupai.
According to independent box office websites and sources, the film starring Ahsan Khan and Neelum Muneer has managed to surpass the PKR 1 Crore mark in a mere three days, leaving the competition – Arth and Rangreza – in its dust.
Chupan Chupai is estimated to do a business of above PKR 2.5 Crore in the coming week if the trends remain the same. On the other hand, the other two films have seen a major fall in their collection with some estimates suggesting a drop of 67 percent in revenue from the first week in the case of Rangreza.
Overall, the Bilal Ashraf and Urwa Hocane starrer has managed to collect close to PKR 2 Crore in its lifetime collection, whereas, numbers related to Arth suggest the same kind of collection.
Owing to the bad business seen last year, Chupan Chupai has managed to hold a strong footing in a mediocre year. However, with the release of Parchi in a few days, there’s a high chance that the film will see fierce competition at the box office very soon.
