Atif Aslam’s recital of Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s hamd — Wohi Khuda Hai — as the first composition of Coke Studio’s season 12 has set the bar very high. Deemed to be a perfect start, the composition praises the Almighty as the soul Creator of a system that runs in balance and harmony, and Atif’s soulful vocals along with Rohail Hyatt’s master arrangement, this one track will surely give you goosebumps.
The musical piece describes the various experiences of human connection with the Divine and Atif did complete justice to it. With a light chorus in the background, Atif’s powerful vocals deliver a rendition that is both enlightening and soul-stirring at the same time.

It’s commendable that Rohail or Atif didn’t play excessively with the tune, keeping its essence alive. Adding only a few guitar tones, tabla, violin and drums. The best part is the grand conclusion with Atif reciting Durood-e-Pak (SAW) and pin drop silence in the background.
Twitter-verse is already loving Atif’s recital. Here’s an example of how much people are loving it, irrespective of faith or geographical boundaries:
