Pakistan’s favorite heartthrob, Humayun Saeed, has returned to the small screen in Meray Paas Tum Ho, alongside Ayeza Khan and Adnan Siddiqui. Despite consistent good ratings, the serial has been attracting a fair amount of confusion regarding the plot-line.

Something Haute got in touch with Humayun exclusively to ask him probing questions about the serial, his character Danish, and what we can expect from it in the coming days. Needless to say, Humayun did not hold back in justifying Danish’s reactions to his wife Mehwish’s indiscretions, and also explain the premise of the serial, which is something a lot of people seem to be struggling to grasp.

“When I was first reading the script for this serial, some 4-5 years ago, that irritation that people are feeling about the characters and how they behave, I felt the same irritation as to why she wouldn’t leave if she so wants to,” said Humayun.

“This is a very simple, common story. The only unconventional thing about it is the way it’s written. It’s almost as if you enter a house everyday, and you’re observing the people living their lives from a distant corner,” he shared. He also talked about why Danish trusts his wife, despite his insecurities; he treats Mehwish as a prize that he’s won and is afraid to lose.

But why does he trust her so blindly? “Why shouldn’t he? Don’t we trust our wives?” he chuckles. And it makes sense. His character is essentially in denial about his wife’s intentions and wants to hold onto his fantasy of a working marriage. At least that’s what Humayun says is the vision behind the script. He assures that there’s more to the serial in the upcoming episodes, and we can’t wait to see how the story develops!
