Renowned Indian singer Arijit Singh performed live in Abu Dhabi on November 19 and gave his fans a night to remember. This was his first live concert after the coronavirus outbreak.

In fact, he surprised the crowd by taking a brave stand for Pakistani artists without caring much about the “controversy” it might trigger.

The singer took a stand for Pakistani artists by speaking about the ban on an international platform.

“I have a question right now, it’s a controversial question but I’m going to ask it,” the Agar Tum Saath Ho artist said adding that he does not follow the news.

“I don’t follow the news much but tell me one thing – is Pakistani music still banned in India? Or has it started? I mean in the middle something had happened – but has it restarted now?” he added stating that Atif Aslam is one of his favourite singers.

“Because Atif Aslam is one of my favourites so I give a damn.” Arijit specifically praised Atif Aslam before moving on to sing Pehli Nazar Mein. “Atif Aslam, Shafqat Amanat Ali are two of my favourite singers.”

Attendees praised his guts online and shared videos that went viral.

“What solid statement from Arijit Singh regarding Pakistani singers,” lauded a Twitter user sharing the video.

Another fan mentioned how “The crowd went nuts”.

“And immediately after, [Arijit] sings a NFAK song. Crowd loses it again. For everything that goes on against Pakistan in India, man showed balls to say these things out loud. Dil jeet liya bhai boy ne. Respect,” he shared.
