Earlier this month, a poster featuring Mansha standing with her arms crossed in a black outfit while the birds in the background give an illusion of her having wings, was released giving viewers an eerie feeling. Now the teasers and OST of drama serial Koyal have been released confirming that Mansha will be seen playing a dark character.
This is going to be actor turned director, Yasir Hussain’s debut drama and features Fahad Sheikh and Mansha Pasha in lead roles. The first teaser featured Mansha in an all-black outfit with mischievous expressions. She picks up an egg from a nest and breaks it giving us the impression that her character aims to destroy people in a home.
In the second teaser, a voiceover states people only consider snakes as a threat, however, a Koyal (bird) destroys homes, confirming her intentions.
And in the third teaser, we see that Mansha’s character is probably an outsider. “The nests in which a koyal lays her eggs, the children from that nest are meant to die,” suggests a voiceover.
The script has been penned by Zanjabeel Asim Shah. Mansha is playing the titular character Koyal, while the name of Fahad’s character is Moosa. According to reports, the story is based on sister rivalry.

The melodious OST of the drama is sung and composed by Schumaila Rehmat Hussain. The lyrics suggest that Mansha is an invited guest who is a threat to the wellbeing of the members of the house. For her, the house is just a temporary place to live, not her “home”. The father played by Noor ul Hassan considers her as his daughter and has blind trust in her. The other children seem to be unhappy with the relationship.
Apart from Mansha Pasha and Fahad Sheikh, the cast for Koyal also includes Fareeha Jabeen, Maham Amir, Noor ul Hassan, Yasir Taj and several other actors.
It is being produced for Emax TV, with Farhan Gauher serving as the producer. The drama will be aired on digital platform Urduflix and TV channel Aaj Entertainment.
