Khalid Ahmad, a legendary actor in Pakistan, has once again made the nation proud on an international platform. His recent performance in Sakina Samo’s feature film, Waiting, has won him the Best Actor award at the Harlem International Film Festival in New York.
The feature film was scheduled for release in March this year after the teaser trailer was revealed in February. But amid the ongoing COVID-19 outbreak, it was delayed like almost all the activities and events of the world. The film, which premiered earlier this month at the festival, was also veteran actress Sakina Samo’s directorial debut.
Taking to Instagram, Sakina Samo shared this news with her followers and wrote:

Waiting revolves around a family’s collective time of anticipation and patience; a father waiting for his family to leave him, a mother waiting for her son to come home, and a daughter taking care of her aging parents, waiting for them to pass on. It features loneliness, indifference, and the fear of death, ever approaching.
The film’s cast includes actors like Kaif Ghaznavi, Samina Ahmad, Adnan Jaffar, and Raza Ali Abid among others. Waiting is co-produced by Azeem Mughal, while the story is written by the talented Bee Gul known for Dar Si Jati Hai Sila.
Khalid Ahmad, who was born in Bihar, India and moved to Pakistan in his teenage years, is considering a living legend today. His critically acclaimed work on television includes drama serials like Talkhiyan, Pehchan, and Firdous ki Dozakh among others, while his renowned plays include Badshahat Ka Khatma and Naql-e-Makani. He was most recently seen in Asim Abbasi’s revolutionary web-series, Churails.
