Despite two local films opening to the Pakistani audiences this week, there seems to be no stopping Bollywood’s Simmba at the box office as it speeds its way to the top 3 highest-grossing Indian films list.
According to independent box office websites and sources, the Ranveer Singh starrer is enjoying the top spot at the box office at the moment and there seems to be no competition to knock it down, in spite of two Pakistani films – Gumm and Jackpot (re-release) given more screen allocation for the time being.
Apart from the local addition to the cinemas, there are also two new Hollywood and two Bollywood films releasing this week. However, none of that has had an effect on Simmba as of yet.

If the current numbers are to be believed, then the Rohit Shetty film is enjoying a comfortable PKR 15 Crore at the local box office and has no foes for miles who has raked the same amount in 2019, currently. Thus, in comparison, Gumm starring Sami Khan and Shamoon Abbasi, and Jackpot starring Noor Hassan, which released on Friday have not yet managed to garner heavy collections – and given the critique, might fail to do so at all.
However, having said that, the Bollywood film might see an overall slump soon as the screen allocation at single-screen cinemas across Pakistan might see saturation. If that does turn out to be the case, there’s a major chance Simmba will lose its domination in smaller cities and cinemas.
What will the new week and a vast number of releases bring to the table? We will literally have to wait and watch…
