The spirit of philanthropy reaches new heights in the Holy Month of Ramzan and tapping into this sentiment, Coca-Cola is set to launch the first of its kind Digital Donation Drive, encouraging the people of Pakistan to support the noble cause that was spearheaded by Abdul Sattar Edhi.
This is the first ever Digital Donation Drive in Pakistan and it will be LIVE on Coca-Cola’s Facebook page on the 5th of June from 4 pm to 6 pm. Many popular personalities from Pakistan will be present at the Digithon. Here’s the line-up:
Ali Rehman: Famous for his roles in many dramas, he is a true humanitarian at heart.
Momina Mustehsan: Featured in BBC’s ‘100 Influential Women of 2017’ and Forbes list of ‘30 under 30 – Asia 2018’, she is an advocate of social causes, including women’s rights.
Ahad Raza Mir: The Lux Style award winner for the year 2017, Ahad Raza Mir is also the first Pakistani to have won an award for Best Actor in a Musical in the Calgary Critics Awards.
Maya Ali: Having a huge fan base, Maya Ali is a strong supporter of women’s rights and has participated in several fundraisers prior to becoming part of the Digithon.
Faisal Edhi and Bilquis Edhi: The son and wife of the eminent social worker need no introduction. Bilquis Bano Edhi is a professional nurse and one of the most active philanthropists in Pakistan. She has been named The Mother of Pakistan. Faisal Edhi along with his mother Bilquis spearheads the foundation and its mission after the demise of Edhi Sahab.
With a promising line-up, the Digithon is set to make a mark on the Digital Landscape of Pakistan. Tune in to Coca-Cola’s Facebook page on the 5th of June to witness it LIVE.
This Digital Donation Drive will also allow people to make Live Calls and SMS their pledges for donations. Moreover, callers that would like to go live with their donations will get a  chance to talk to their favourite personalities too. Questions using #ForEdhi on the day via social media will also be featured at the Digithon.
The idea of the Digital Donation Drive is an extension of the ‘Bottle of Change’ campaign run by Coca-Cola. This campaign has been enhanced further on social media as celebrities have been going live and encouraging people to give #EidiForEdhi with a simple call-to-action.
