While artists both sides of the Indo-Pak border are continuously trying to promote peace, they are the ones who often become a victim of controversy and political hate. Recently Sania Mirza got labelled as non-Indian after her post on the rape and murder of an 8-year-old girl went viral and now Kareena Kapoor Khan has gotten trolled for marrying Saif Ali Khan and for naming her son Taimur after she went public with her support for #Asifa.

Veere Di Wedding co-star Swara Bhasker shared a picture of Kareena holding a placard demanding justice for the eight-year-old girl who was gang-raped and murdered in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district.

This was meant to trigger a reaction, which it did, but it wasn’t always the reaction one had hoped for.

“She should be ashamed of the fact that despite being a Hindu is married to a Muslim. Has a child with him and named him Taimur, after a brutal Islamic barbarian,” one troll tweeted.

Swara Bhasker came to rescue and tweeted:

“You should be ashamed you exist. That God gave you a brain which you chose to fill with hate and a mouth you chose to spew filth from. You are a shame on India and Hindus. That sh*ts like you feel emboldened to talk this crap publicly is this govt.’s legacy.”

It’s nice to see these costars support each other and speak against hate and intolerance. Swara and Kareena will soon be seen together in their upcoming film Veere Di Wedding, set to release on June 1.
