Saturday evening saw a sophisticated affair at Zainab Chottani’s Studio, where the designer displayed her glamorous bridal collection, Pétillante, in partnership with Swarovski.
On display were five exuberant pieces, all in varying colour combinations, which gave a precise feel of what difference an original Swarovski crystal can make in an outfit. After all, what is a bridal ensemble if its crystals aren’t gleaming bright?
Zainab Chottani has been working with Swarovski since the past year, though this time around she used only Swarovski crystals in her embellishments. Speaking of her collaboration with the brand, Zainab told us, “Since we have been purchasing a lot of Swarovskis from them, they agreed that that we do have that kind of market for bridals. They wanted us to switch completely to using only Swarovski crystals in our bridals, which we were still contemplating. But even the deal now is that we’re going to make our collection entirely in Swarovksis, but give our customers the option of using regular crystals too.â€
Speaking of the difference between normal crystals and Swarovskis, Zainab informed us, “The bling is different, you don’t get the same colours in regular stones, plus the quality ups the game of the outfit and gives a completely different look. I won’t say the [price] difference is not huge, but it is definitely worth it.”
The event was further lit up with the participation of the Swarovski team from Middle East, including Andrew Mojica, Managing Director of Swarovski, who had flown in from UAE.
Speaking to Mojica about Swarovksi’s continued collaboration with the designer, we were curious to know what exactly is their criteria. “We find people who are extremely creative, and love the magic of crystals. We’ve been working with Zainab Chottani for a year and this collection allows us to showcase new cuts and colours.â€
The designer is also set to participate in Swarovksi’s Sparkling Couture Gala, set to take place next month in Dubai.
