Most of us enjoyed the Bin Roye movie when it released, with one main objection, that it looked like a drama serial on the big screen. This has a flip side; the drama is now looking larger than life when we’re watching it on television. The drama is much more engaging and complex than most serials on TV these days and it has so many twists and turns that were not part of the movie. We’re immensely enjoying it and here and several reasons that may convince to catch up if you aren’t already watching it..
1. Mahira and Humayun
You don’t see Humayun Saeed and Mahira Khan on any other channel, which is such a relief because the big problem with plays these days it that all actors are in multiple plays and their characters are all mixed up and therefore confusing to watch. Mira Sethi is in several plays these days and so is Hina Bayat. We do understand that it’s not their fault; drama serials are not released on scheduled times and by the time they air there’s a pile up. But then actors are also spreading themselves too thin. That said, Mahira and Humayun are a joy to watch.
2. The ensemble cast
The ensemble cast is almost brilliant. The entire cast is extremely talented and there’s hardly a single character/actor that is a misfit. Every other drama serial has a few, if not more, characters that are annoying or highly untalented but everyone in Bin Roye is a good fit, from the daadi, Saba’s parents, Saba and Irtiza themselves, Safeer and even Safeer’s mother.
3. The story is progressive
We’re fourteen episodes into the story and now that Irtiza has unearthed the mystery behind Safeer’s disappearance and lack of interest in Saba, he’s incredibly upset that she preferred to commit to a fraudulent marriage than give any stress to her parents. We think it’s a very progressive message for the masses, many of who believe divorce to be a fate worse than death.
