Summer is here and Ramzan is around the corner. That means you’re enjoying your lawn loot and have started planning your Ramzan wardrobe. Ramzan, with its festive glory, is the one month that women turn totally traditional for and invest in clothes that are modest and apt for the iftaars, right up to chand raat and eid. It’s a great, happy time for all of us and an equally super opportunity to turn the style quotient up for ethnic wear. So what does one wear to iftars in this scorching heat, you might ask?

While beautiful lawn joras promise to be everyone’s best friend in summer, may we remind you that chikankari and the elegance it brings to just about anyone who wears it is more timeless and evergreen. It’s essential for every girl, no matter what age, to have a chikankari outfit in her summer wardrobe, and more importantly, Ramzan wardrobe.

One does wonder where to find authentic chikankari in Pakistan and to put every woman’s search at ease, renowned luxury wear designer Zainab Chottani has designed a ‘Chikankari Eid Festive Collection 2018 called Perayaan. The capsule collection was launched at an intimate event in Lahore this weekend, introducing the coveted fabric improvised in unique and fashionable ways.

The refreshing collection, perfect apt for Ramzan and Eid, is carefully crafted with vintage needlework on the brand’s trademark soft and breezy supima cotton fabric with delicate net dupattas. Priced at PKR 8,650 each, the collection has 7 designs to chose from (in two colour ways), each one a fabulous piece of design work, leaving us wanting them all. Our favourite design has to be the timeless white or then the black and white, though we have our eyes on the emerald green as well. Simply irresistible.

The collection is set to launch on May 7 internationally and is available on her e- store pre-booking.
