One of the prominent stars of drama serial Mushk is Momal Sheikh. She is playing Mehek, a bewildered woman who got married to a gentleman who left him after nikkah and  went to Pakistan, he has disappeared strangely and she has given birth to a child. Now she has returned to her village in Pakistan and is on the hunt to find what happened to her husband. Though the drama shows that she went to London to study law, we can hardly spot any traits of an strong and independent woman in Mehek.

Something Haute caught up with the actor to find out why there is such a big contrast in her personality despite being well-educated, how she views her character and what’s in store for her? Read on:

What made you sign Mushk?

“Aehsun (Talish) bhai called me and I immediately said yes to him without asking any questions. Then by the time he called me the second time, I got to know that the story revolves around Mehek and it is written by Imran Ashraf, Urwa is in it. I thought it was a dream team to work with and then I felt more excited gradually. Then when I got the script, I realized the Urdu in it is difficult and Imran wanted no changes in the delivery so that was tough for me,” she said.

What is her view on her character’s actions in the drama?

“Just because Mehek has studied law in London, this hasn’t changed her nature or personality. She is well-educated but she is not confident or strong enough. She will remain the same or rather now she is more weak because she has more baggage. Her worst fears have turned out to be true now that her husband has disappeared. She has witnessed how heartbreak drove her best friend to commit suicide and now she is facing similar circumstances. She has too many questions,” Momal explained.

Does Mehek know Adam loves her?

“Somewhere as Momal I felt that connection but Mehek doesn’t know at all. She may wonder why Adam behaves like this or why does he help her selflessly? She is not street smart and has hundreds of other worries in her life,” she said.
