ARY Digital’s drama serial Jalan has been in the news since its first trailer was released. Unfortunately, the popularity in this case is all due to wrong reasons. Last week, Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority  (PEMRA) issued a notice where it was clearly stated that Jalan has been banned to air on television due to its ‘indecent content’ which is against the ‘social and ethical standards of our society.’

Now in a turn of events Sindh High Court has reversed the ban, allowing the channel to air Jalan’s next episode as per schedule, on Wednesday night. The news went viral when journalist Omair Alavi tweeted about it. Later, the lead cast of the play — Emmad Irfani, Minal Khan and Areeba Habib — also shared screenshots of the tweet on their Instagram stories, in celebration of the good news.

Earlier Something Haute reported that there were some sources close to the drama who had said that the team behind Jalan was in talks with PEMRA to reach a compromise. Now that the ban has lifted, we may get to see if any objectionable scenes or content has been censored in the coming episodes.
