Celebrities are a vital part of any fashion week. I met dozens at ICW; seen ahead are Hrithik Roshan, Imran Khan, Neha Dhupia. Kareena walked the finale for Manish Malhotra though Saif and Kareena were out of bounds for conversation with anyone but Karan Johar. KJo, btw, hosts ‘Kouture with Karan’ especially for NDTV at ICW. Ranbir Kapoor, walking the ramp another day for Karan Johar (who designed a collection with Varun Bahl). In 2009 Ranbir and Imran Khan modeled while Shahrukh Khan and his wife Gauri did the finale but you probably remember the more recent 2010 show with Hrithik Roshan, Amitabh Bachchan and SRK better! And here with me (below) is my friend and fashion week host (and jewelry designer) Farah Khan Ali. Farah, of course, is Hrithik Roshan’s sister in law (Suzanne’s sister) and she was kind enough to extend an invitation to the entire Instep team after she was victimized by a certain Pakistani jewelry designer and given a fair platform to voice her opinion when no one else in Pakistan did. It’s a long (and quite sordid) story but one that ended well as I went and returned with invaluable experience and a great friend just across the border.
