Hum Kahan Kay Sachay Thay marks Mahira Khan’s return to television after a long hiatus. Fans, as well as her colleagues, are equally excited to see her back on screen.
In an exclusive chat with Aamna Isani of Something Haute, Mahira spoke at length about the drama and her inclination. She also shared how the cast and crew reacted to ‘Mahira Khan’ being on set, how she felt about being on a TV drama set after seven years, her equation with co-stars, and her relationship with her glasses throughout the drama.
“It feels surreal,” said Mahira Khan who essays the role of Mehreen in the drama. “It’s been a humbling experience,” she added stating that first when people used to ask her about TV and film, she used to say that there is no difference. “You go, you act and you come back.” But now she feels that yes, there is a difference.
“I have way more respect for TV actors now. Even though I am a TV actor myself. But because I’ve done films for so long now, when you come back, you’re like oh wow,” she said explaining that TV requires more work in a single day.
“With films, you have two scenes in a day and you give those scenes your 100%. For dramas, you are shooting 8 to 9 scenes and that reminds you how hard people are working and how hard you are supposed to work and still bring out the best,” the superstar shared who was last on a TV set seven years ago.
This experience was like going back to your roots. “I don’t think actors should only stick to films.”
Apart from her ongoing drama, Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay, three movies starring Mahira Khan are ready to be screened. Now, all one can wish for is the coronavirus pandemic to be over.
