Ramazan and iftar parties go hand in hand and in the world of fashion and entertainment, Nomi Ansari’s annual white feast – now one of the most anticipated events on the festive calendar – is quite the talk of the town with people NOT on the guest list being quite miffed. For those invited, the evening promises a couple of hours of happy mingling, great food and needless to say, oodles of picture opps. While the guest list changes year to year, the one thing consistent about Nomi’s #WhiteFeast is the dress code, which requests everyone wear white.
Despite the hustle bustle and flurry of pictures being clicked from every angle possible, we were able to talk to some stars and ask them what white meant to them.
Iqra Aziz looked lovely in a traditional white outfit with a festive organza dupatta while Yasir Hussain – all smiles by her side – looked just as much the part. “White is all about positivity and staying down-to-earth; just thanking God for everything that you have!” Iqra Aziz said about the colour. Nomi Ansari, who’s known as the King of Colour, said that white, to him, simply meant “Peace.”
The Suno Chanda star, Nabeel Zuberi said white was his absolute favourite colour. “I wear it a lot; it’s my go-to colour!” he admitted.
Sadaf Kanwal said that to her the colour white signifies Nomi Ansari’s White Feast, which she seemed to be thoroughly enjoying with her clan of models.
“White is the epitome of purity,” Sanam Saeed put it simply.
Ali Rehman Khan spoke about his rather grey character in drama serial Khas and Hania – at the event with beau Asim Azhar – looked trendy in a long white kurta worn with wide leg denim and high heels. Hania, we feel, is nailing her character in Ana.
The best thing about Nomi’s White Feast is that it’s not just an industry affair, it’s more about friends and family. And it’s always great to catch up with the Ansari clan.
And of course, alongside the celebrity quotient – in fact complementing it perfectly – was the fashion squad, in full glory.
Everyone wore white but everyone looked different. Who do you think carried white – the colour of peace and purity – the best?
