2019 marks the year which has several exciting films and dramas to offer for Pakistani audiences. From The Legend of Maula Jatt starring Fawad Khan to television drama Alif featuring Hamza Ali Abbasi, the year ahead promises to wow the audience with perhaps, some of Pakistan entertainment industry’s groundbreaking projects. Although we might get to see some of our favourite actors on the big screen, but we do hope that we get to see them on our TV screens too.
Here are our top favourite picks of male celebrities who are absent from TV dramas for a long time and it’s high time that they should make an appearance.
1) Fawad KhanÂ
After a hiatus of three years, the heartthrob of the nation will be seen donning his most unusual yet promising avatar of Maula Jatt in the Bilal Lashari film The Legend of Maula Jatt. Last seen as Zaroon Junaid in Zindagi Gulzar Hai, the actor has been off the television screen since 2013. Although we doubt that he will be making an appearance on TV anytime soon, one can hope after all.
2) Fahad Mustafa
An actor par excellence, Fahad Mustafa has played several dynamic characters on television and on the silver screen. From his abusive husband character in Kankar to his conman role in Na Maloom Afraad, the audience have loved him. The actor has now ventured into production, but we certainly miss his TV presence and hope that he works on some project soon.

3) Sheheryar MunawarÂ
Although the actor will be seen in Asim Raza’s romantic drama Parey Hut Love on Eid-ul-Azha, he was last seen on television in Asmaanon Pay Likha opposite Sajal Aly. His earlier release Project Ghazi is slated for re-release this year, but is he working on a TV project? We hope so!
4) Adnan MalikÂ
Last seen in a pivotal role in Cake, Adnan Malik garnered appreciation for his performance in the film. Adnan’s character as Khalil in Sadqay Tumhare was loved by fans and critics alike and although the actor plans to venture into film-making, it would be interesting to see him in a drama this year.
5) Adeel HussainÂ
The actor who was last seen in the movie Dobara Phir Se in 2016 has been away from the acting scene for over two years. Adeel’s performance in Mehreen Jabbar’s television play Jackson Heights was lauded but since then he has been on a hiatus from television and we don’t feel good about it. While Adeel has not announced any new acting projects, fans and netizens are eager to see him act and back on television.
