When you think about the music bands who have contributed immensely to the pop-music of Pakistan in the early 2000s, the name of Call The Band emerges without a doubt. Call gave their fans memorable songs to listen to for years to come. From romantic ballads like Sab Bhula Ke to Bichar Kai Bhi, Junaid Khan’s melodious voice has continually worked its magic.

Now, the singer turned actor is collaborating with an Indian rock band Seedha Palat Udhar Nautanki Kahike (SPUNK) on a single titled Talaash. The song — which is another step towards cross-border friendship — aims to present a narrative of love, peace and harmony. Sung and written by Junaid and Spunk’s lead vocalist, the two musicians hope to bring India and Pakistan closer through music.

“Music knows no boundaries and this collaboration with Spunk is a way to improve understanding and communication between the two countries. I have always believed in living peacefully in a borderless world and Talaash is going to spread the message of harmony amongst the people of both cultures,” Junaid Khan said in a statement.

The metal-rock song explores not only questions of identity, but also the part you need to play in order to unify people. The song which has started the hashtag movement #Talaashforpeace will officially release on February 2.
