The highly anticipated second annual Pakistan International Screen Awards (PISA 2021) took place on November 5th, at the majestic Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai. It was a star-studded event that was graced by several A-list actors, designers, models, media personalities and social media influencers.

PISA acknowledged the stellar talent of Pakistan’s most celebrated artists from the Film, TV, Music, Fashion and Digital Content industries and bestowed 29 well-deserved awards. The night was a true celebration on an international platform.
The stage was grand and the mesmerizing performances by some of Pakistan’s most celebrated superstars remained the true highlight of the show. With several hit moments as well as a few misses, the event was executed gracefully.

Yasir Hussain and Vasay Chaudhry were the hosts for the night and the show was opened by a patriotic and passionate recitation of Pakistan’s national anthem by singer Asim Azhar.

There was another fantastic performance by superstars Mehwish Hayat and Sheheryar Munawar that was enjoyed by the audience.
Mehwish performed solo to the song Chirrya by Neha Chaudhry and Shiraz Uppal from her film Chhalawa which was followed by a solo performance by Sheheryar to Haye Dil Bechara from his superhit film Parey Hut Love and Shakar Wandaan Re from Ho Mann Jahan.
The two then created desi magic by joining each other to perform on Munday Lahore De from Load Wedding that starred Mehwish.

Vital Signs’ patriotic anthem Dil Dil Pakistan was also reprised and sung by young musical prodigies and future superstars including Mustafa Khan, Hadiya Hashmi, Urooj Fatima and Aashir Wajahat.
A unique dance performance by Faryal Mehmood was followed by an elegant solo dance recital to Madame Noor Jehan’s song by Amar Khan.
Apart from the standard critics and viewers choice awards in the above-stated categories, there were several honorary awards presented as well. Star of the Decade Award was given to Humayun Saeed while the Outstanding Contribution to Cinema Award was won by Mehwish Hayat.
Ali Azmat won the PISA Rock Star’ Award while Umair Jaswal was awarded the PISA Youth Icon of the Year Award. Both of them gave energetic performances and won the crowd.

Two Turkish stars, Emre Üçtepe and Celal Al were presented the PISA Global Influencer Award as another step to strengthen Pak Turk relations. Most Promising Model of the Year was presented to Faiza Ashfaq.
Among the many awards and performances, a medley by veteran music legend Sajjad Ali left the audience nostalgic and energized as all the stars got up and danced to the tunes.
