Over the course of 10 years, Coke Studio has provided us with some great hits, brought back artists who had been out of the limelight, as well as brought on artists who had never been in this spotlight. Coke Studio also cued many other brands to bring about their own musical spin to the scene, albeit those were not half as successful. With great names working behind and in front of the camera, Coke Studio has brought about a significant development to Pakistani music.
Hence, with this year marking a decade to Coke Studio’s long journey, it is only natural to expect them to go all out. As revealed by Express Tribune, here is part of the upcoming season’s producer and artist lineup.
Producers: Ali Hamza, Jaffar, Mekaal Hasan, Shaani, Shuja Haider, Sahir Ali Bagga, Salman Ahmed,  Strings, Sajjad Ali.Â
Artists:  Aima Baig, Ahmed Jehanzeb, Ali Sethi, Ali Zafar, Amanat Ali, Ataullah Eesakhelvi, Daniyal Zafar, Farhan Saeed, Humaira Channa, Humaira Arshad, Jabbar Abbas, Momina Mustehsan, Nabeel Shaukat, Natasha Khan, QB, Rahat Fateh Ali, Salman Ahmed, Shafqat Amanat Ali,Strings, Umair Jaswal, Zau Ali.
We see some interesting newcomers on the list, like Daniyal Zafar who is Ali Zafar’s brother and is yet to prove his talent, as well as Zau Ali who is Sajjad Ali’s daughter. We are missing names like Khumariyaan, EP and the Aunty Disco Project, names we’d like to see being brought on board but since this isn’t the complete lineup we have our fingers crossed! Plus Coke Studio isn’t complete for us without the maestros like Noori and Meesha Shafi, to name a few. It would also be fun to see some change in the majorly classic and sufi vibe that the studio projects, an addition of something like SomeWhatSuper perhaps, who have brought a great twist to our flourishing music industry. Looks like we’ll have to impatiently wait to hear more, stay tuned to this space for more updates!
